Kristine joined the Sprekeler Lab in spring 2024 as an independent postdoctoral researcher funded by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. She is currently investigating the role of inhibitory neurons in representational drift, building on her work with the O’Leary Lab at Cambridge University from her visit there in 2022. She completed her PhD in Computer Science at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in June 2023. During her PhD, Kristine worked with the Living Technology Lab, led by Stefano Nichele. She earned her BSc in Applied and Engineering Physics at Cornell University in 2010 and her MSc in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Porto in 2018. During her master, she carried out her thesis work with the Neuroengineering and Computational Neuroscience group, led by Paulo Aguiar, at the Institute for Research and Innovation in Health (i3S). Kristine is an avid reader and writer and has over a decade of experience in technical editing, copywriting, and journalism.
